Just got this power amplifier today from a buddy on loan. Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this model? It's been sitting unused for several years, so I'm not sure of it's level of functionality.

I was going to pop the top and take a look for any obvious issues like leaking caps, but it uses Robinson screws and I don't have a driver/bit for those. Will pick one up tomorrow and post some guts photos.

Now that Friends is leaving Netflix, I was considering getting a DVD set, but they're pretty expensive and I don't have a DVD drive either. There are also several different versions (blue and white, red, 15th anniversary). Should I go for a DVD set, and if so, which one? Or should I just torrent or watch on

You guys have any opinions. I have an old rainbow vac that i love. It was left in my house when I bought it and i have to spend a hundred bucks or so to fix it up. part of the fix was nex carbon brushes.

Well Been using it for a year and it quit yesterday after making a slight burning smell. Taking it back to the guy that fixed it to tell me whats wrong and if its the brushes going bad then he said it would be anohter 50 bucks to replace it.

I am kinda mad cause i didn't think brushes last for a year only...

should I bother with fixing this up or move on to something better.
If so what are great vacuums that u guys have experience with

The SR1 speakers only emit static sounds when synchronized with the Polk Audio Max soundbar and base unit. (Synchronized process performed several times)

The Polk Audio Max soundbar has been connected to the internet for days with a known working network cable (tested with another internet device).

The soundbar is supposed to update firmware when connected to the internet.

Polk MagniFi Max:
- System Firmware 103
- Cast firmware 1.21.75965

1. Help to remove the static.
2. Do I have the latest firmware?
3. If I don’t have the latest firmware, help update the unit to the latest firmware.
- Google Home indicates the MagniFi Max is connected to WiFi, but clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner doesn’t give the option to update firmware. The only options available were “Feedback” and “Open Source License”.

Hello,

A few weeks ago the stars came in line and I was able to swing a Denon 4400H


I've been doing a tad bit of woodwork, everyone has been thanking me with Amazon cards. Last weekend The wife and I went to the local casino for a promotion and I hit a nice slot. My wife saw it so I had to give her most of it. You know the "we got bills" thing. Before we left she was not around to see the 2nd hit of the night... hehehe. Wednesday morning I was just having my coffee thinking about what I was going to do with my Amazon cards. Oh wait gee daaa Amazon sells Emotiva. I check my fun money account and the gift card balance. Oh my I have just enough for this and it's in stock.


XPA-3 new in box.


I was looking at the used market, not much there in the 3 channel zone. I've watched the new Sicario and listened to a few CD's. I didn't want to turn it off but @ 1a.m. I think I should before my wife calls the cops. It's not a Parasound but I could afford it, Sound an depth is amazing. Yes better than the BasX-A300.

I think I am good for now, I think I said that a few weeks ago too.

Will a B&K ST1430 help my RTi-12's?

Currently running RTi-12's in a smallish room with a Kenwood KA-8004. The Kenny seems to drive them very well considering its listed at only 55wpc/8om.

I have my eyes on a B&K ST1430 and wondering if you guys think it would help add more a bit more detail to the already great sounding Polks?

Thoughts? Thanks!

Try as I might I can not get the woofer to communicate with the soundbar. I hold in the sync button for three seconds while holding the bluetooth and volume + buttons for 5. The lights flash back and forth and after an amount of time they stop but there is no sound coming from the woofer. Troubled by it all. Can anyone help short of sending it back

I have a Polk Surroundbar 6000 hooked to the Insignia TV. I also have DirecTV. The wire from the soundbar is plugged into Source 1. It runs to the TV and plugged into the Digital Output. The TV sound is turned off. I turn on the TV and DirecTV by using the remote for the DirecTV control. I turn on the Polk soundbar using the small control provided. Only once in a while will the sound come on instantly thru the soundbar. Most of the time I have to go into the settings using the DirecTV control, then to Audio, then to Dolby Digital and turn Dolby Digital both off and on again to make the sound come thru the soundbar. Any ideas why that is happening and how to correct it? Also, is there any way to sync the Polk control into the DirecTV control? Many thanks.

I have and have enjoyed my Breville coffee grinder maker for almost 3 years now. Recently i noticed that when I made a pot of coffee, sometimes a very little bit of clear hot water is dripping down the side of the pot and into the drip tray. After careful inspection I determined that the lid on the brew basket is not closing all the way and decided I would just order the ($20) replacement part from their website.

When I went to order the part I found it to be out of stock and decided to contact customer service to get an eta. I explained that my whole kitchen has Breville stuff, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven and a very awesome waffle maker. The very polite (English speaking) customer service person was as perplexed as I was that the part was not available and told me he would escalate my case to Breville management.

I just received a message from Breville Customer Service that they are sending me a new unit (actually a new model) to replace my unit at no charge ($300 value). App 2 years out of warranty and they are going to replace it free of charge.... Now THAT is standing behind your products! WOW...

So today the Mrs and I took a road trip to Grand Rapids Michigan to review and purchase a set of these babies. About a 5 hour round trip. I was happy that she decided to accompany me, and was also supportive. No covert operations needed this time fellas!

These things are minty! Very clean, the wood trim was near perfect, and the cloth grilles and side panels are flawless. No pilling of any kind, and still glossy. A little separation of the cloth near the top of one grille, easy fix.


The wood endcaps and side panels are solid oak. No cracking anywhere to be found.


The back panels were remarkably clean as well. The included IC is of the blade/blade type, which tells me they are the 1st generation SRS's.



Also included were a set of bi-wire jumpers.

Quick examination of the drivers showed no noticeable flaws, rubber surrounds on the PR looked good, no indications of delamination or repair. Not even a dent in any of the dustcaps! Of course stock tweeters, which'll be my first upgrade.


The XO faceplate was flawless. No nicks or scratches.


These guys are pretty much mint! Needless to say, I pulled the trigger and now they're mine ahem, I mean ours, the Mrs and I of course!

My new friend, Damon helped me load em into the car. This guy was a big strong dude, he easily pushed the dolley across his backyard from the walkout basement to the driveway.


Loaded up and ready to go. Easily fit in the GMC Acadia. Yes I put blankets in between for protection and reduce any movement.


The SRS's have landed! In the garage. Now just to get em down into the basement!


OMG these babies are huge! Verb's household is very happy today!

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. This thread is dedicated to....well, read the title. Pretty self explanatory.

Today, I measured the distance of the subs/speakers to the listening position down to 1/8 of an inch including the toe in and will be messing around with dialing in the Rythmik F-25's.

What have you done for your rig today?

I'm placing my Parasound A21 amp up for sale. Per my last hearing test I'm a "strong candidate for hearing aids" and unfortunately one ear is much worse than the other so it's not just a matter of turning the volume up, I'm missing details. No sense having this if I can't hear the difference and I might as well sell it while I can still lift it :^ )
I'll post pictures later but for now just wanted to get it out there.
Looking for $1585 and I'll pick up shipping and Paypal fees which are going to run probably over $150. It works perfectly and not a mark on it. Original packing materials, etc. 250 WPC and will drive anything. This one is black in color. More later.

Ok so I picked this up and had some high expectations and was greatly let down. This movies basically sucked. I like most of the Predator movies and this one was the worse out of them all. It had a stupid but kinda cool story, stupid scenes where the Predator could have easily taken out everyone and didn't and to top it off they actually had one of them join with the humans kinda but done very stupid and corny.
The previews where way better then the actual movie. I'm actually a bit sorry I spent the money on the 4k disc. The sound was good, the video was sup par at best as the dark scenes looks terrible. The bright scenes where very good. When you have HDR 4k you'll understand what I'm talking about.
I'm not going to watch this again.

Hi, new to this. I have a PSW 505 and Sony STR-DN1080 AVR. I connect the sub to AVR via LFE connection on the sub. The sub power on, but no sound coming from it at all. Is there anything I need to do on AVR side? Or I have a bad cable. I bought a amazon basic cable subwoofer cable.

Ok so the wife just went out for the day with the kids. I just got done doing some catchup work and decided to sit and listen to the Brothers in Arms SACD I just got.
I must be crazy as I just put on track 2 and let the beginning start at 100% on the rig. Holy crap! I think I lost a little hearing and my face hurts a little from smiling.
Just thought I would share. Any of you others (and sorry for the ladies who do this while the hubby is away, didn’t mean to disinclude.) do this?

Hey, any of you guys know a of a good place and specific product for magnifying close up soldering work?

I've seen those magnifying/lamp combos that are swing arm mounted, and also some magnifying glasses that you'd wear.

Features to look for, useful magnification level, preferred brands, products, etc.?

I checked out some glasses at Harbor Freight, but not quite the quality I'm looking for.
Also seems like 3x magnification wouldn't be the upper limit I'd like, but would be a useful option.
