Just a quick thread to see how many of us have reached the "end game" of our two channel audio pursuits. With my recent acquisitions of the Pass Labs X0.2 and the Carver Silver Seven Tube Amps(pray all goes as planned on that deal), I think I may be there. Who else is nearing the end of the road?

KLH?
Anybody here "hear" the new KLH towers? I get more interested in the 3 way speaker designs the more I read about them but there aren't many out there to choose from, so it seems. I have nothing better to do than mess around on the computer tonite and came across the KLH Quincy. The only thing that bothers me is the aluminum tweeter, it sounds harsh to even say it.
Anyone here have any experiences/opinions?

RTA 11t evaluation
First post.
My co-worker has offered to sell me a pair of RTA 11t speakers that he bought new so I have them home for the weekend. They are in very nice shape but I noticed that one of the speakers does not produce sound out of the 6" speaker directly below the tweeter. Is that a known issue? What might I look into to troubleshoot?
I have the speakers paired to my recently re-built Dynaco ST-70.

tweeter upgrade for RTi a5
Picked up a couple of RTi a5 and was wondering if any one has modified these to be more musical. Its a good home theater speaker but I listen to these for music about 30 % of the time and they just sound not good (bad). I think they have plenty of bass and mid bass just way bright and almost unbearable for any amount of time. Love the look and size of the a5 and the price was right so I am hoping to help them out a little. Running them on a yamaha rx a3010 setup. With lsi surrounds and center. I know these cant match up to the lsi but with all the home made speaker combo and tweeters available making an improvement should be possible? I have tried different amps as well with only slight improvement.

The Predator
Ok so I picked this up and had some high expectations and was greatly let down. This movies basically sucked. I like most of the Predator movies and this one was the worse out of them all. It had a stupid but kinda cool story, stupid scenes where the Predator could have easily taken out everyone and didn't and to top it off they actually had one of them join with the humans kinda but done very stupid and corny.
The previews where way better then the actual movie. I'm actually a bit sorry I spent the money on the 4k disc. The sound was good, the video was sup par at best as the dark scenes looks terrible. The bright scenes where very good. When you have HDR 4k you'll understand what I'm talking about.
I'm not going to watch this again.

Anyone had experience with these? I have been watching some on CL for a while now and they are just calling me. They would slot right in where the 705’s are now

Polk RT1 A1 Not Driving Correctly From Denon Amp
I have 2 Denon Amps:
Denon AVR 1613
Denon AVR X1300
When I hooked up the RT1 A1 speakers to the Denon 1613 they seemed flat. So I am wondering if the amps are insufficient for these speakers. Also, does anybody know a way I could run these speakers off a separate amp while the Denon plays the surround sound.

Magnifi Mini - Red Light Flashing Non-Stop
A couple of weeks ago I set up my Magnifi Mini. Everything worked fine. Connected it to the Google Home app at night, and it still worked fine right after connecting it. The next morning, the Mini wouldn't turn on at all. So I unplugged the unit for 20 seconds and plugged it back in. The middle light on the front of the unit started flashing red non-stop, and the unit won't respond at all. Power cycling or trying the wifi reset does nothing.
Contacted Polk support via email over 2 weeks ago, and no response. Calling isn't really an option since I work during their hours. Anybody have any ideas??

S10 or S15 for rear satellites
I have a home theater setup with Monitor 60s and CS1 in the front, a Hsu subwoofer, and right now, a pair of Polk RM201 speakers for the rear satellites. I am considering wall mounting a new pair of Polk Signatures (S10 or S15) for the rear. I guess I have 2 questions- 1) will the Signatures be a legit improvement over the RM201s, and 2) would there be any reason to go with the S15 over the S10? I like the smaller size of the S10 for the rear surrounds if there isn't a definitive reason to go with the larger speakers. This is a 5.1 setup in a room that is 15x14. Thanks for any insight!

Upgrading Center Channel from CS1 to S30
I currently have Polk Monitor 60 towers and the CS1 center channel. I'm not in love with the CS1, and really never have been. I am already looking at adding S10s for the surround speakers, and was thinking about replacing the center with the S30. Would it be an issue if the center channel was from the Signature line, but the front towers are from the Monitor line?

Bumblebee
Just got home from seeing this and I must say this is my favorite Transformers movie of them all, even the first one. After the Michael "Blow up everything every 5 minutes" Bay run that I figured destroyed the series for good, they somehow managed to get a writer and director who must have watched the cartoon series.
The movie had heart, soul and was alot of fun. The humor for the most part was actually funny, unlike the annoying mess of an attempt by Mr Baysplosion.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Highly recommended!

Modded crossover Polk CSi5. $75
I bought this about a year ago. The tweeter was bad. I replaced the tweeter. I completely replaced all the components in the crossover as it relates to the tweeter. Every component has the exact same value but I used components bought from Parts Express. Dayton caps, etc. Of course it sounds way better. More detail.
The new tweeter was for the rti6 so the flange isnt the perfect oval. I have the original flange you can swap if you want.
I spent $50 in the parts for the crossover. Pi if intered

New here
Hi, I am new new here. I just inherited speakers from my father who recently passed on the 17th. I always had Polk Audio which I received from my dad before he upgraded to what I know have.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has some info on the setup I am now running. I have a pws 125 sub, which I just sent in the board to be repaired as I want it perfect. As of right now I am using a smaller Polk powered sub but still sounds incredible. I can't wait to hear the 12". I have two towers. They are the RTi a7, which I just set up as biamp(I guess my dad never new you could, wish I could tell him). For my surrounds I have 2 Fxi a6 speakers. The center is a CSI A6 speaker. For the receiver, it is a Onkyo tx-805(older model), but still better than my new pioneer elite receiver. My surround system this will be replacing is going to my father in law. I have not setup the center or surround back yet. Still using my old ones, and already the sound stage is amazing. Can't wait to get it complete with the psw125, once it's fixed, and set up my dad's center and surrounds.
My question is, are these speakers any good? I know the towers sound great, but the receiver uses HDMI 1.3a, which is a problem for 4k and 3d, but I can switch to optical and not do HDMI pass through. I am fine with 1080p though on my 70"'. I really do not want to buy a70" 4k tv.
Also, should I buy two more fxi a6 for THX 7.1, or should I stick to 5.1 and continue bi-amping towers? I did notice a difference in bi-amping. Surprisingly a big difference. From stuff I read it seemed like it may have been a waste of time, but thankfully it wasn't. Also is there away to adjust bass and treble seperate when bi-amping?
Thanks for your advice!

Amplifier static click/pop through speaker when turning on & off
Calling all electronics engineers and amplifier experts!
What would cause an amplifier that was previously silent when turning on & off, to randomly start making a static click/pop through the speaker when turning it on and off?
I realize different amplifiers tend to make various sounds upon powering up and down, but I'm specifically curious about what would cause this behavior to suddenly start happening out of the blue.
It's not an outrageously loud static click/pop sound, so I don't think it'll damage anything, but this just started happening to me so I'm curious. By the way these are monoblocks, and the other one is still silent, no static click/pops upon power up or down.

RTA8 - TL mod?
I’ve searched and don’t find a thread detailing whether this mod is possible (or worth doing)... I picked up an absolutely pristine pair of RTA8's the other day and got to thinking maybe I should try putting 198's in them, see what all this TL fuss is about.... From what I can see, all I would have to add is a 16μf cap to the HF section of each crossover and put the 12μf in parallel with the 2ohm resistor. I’m thinking Sonicaps and Mills + a pair of 198's... worthwhile?
