FS: Polk LS 90 Oak with Upgraded X-overs

I like them a lot. If the wife would have let me run them with the grill covers off, they would still be in my main rig. They sound outstanding, open, dynamic etc...with solid bass with the grill covers off. Putting them back on mellows the sound slightly, but IMO puts a veil over the sound.

They are in beautiful condition. Upgraded crossovers according to Keith (see linked thread).

I would like to keep them for the man-room to swap out with the SDA2a's, but the only way I could get my new PSB's is if I promised the wife I would sell the ones I had, so here they are.

Local pickup only, or I could potentially drive a bit to meet. Paypal or cash only. I reserve the right of sale to a member in good standing.

Courtesy of my cousin. I already ordered a surround kit as the foam surround is failing. I'm expecting it to sound quite good, although I doubt it will outshine my PSA sub. It may find its way into the FS section soon.

SB1 and S2 constantly uploading data

Hi Folks,
Did those of you who own SB1 (named Polk TV below) or S2 (Polk St) notice that they upload considerable amounts of data every day? I don't use them anymore for streaming music, so no downloads, but the two speakers uploaded total of 15 GB of data in two months time. See the images below. Please let me know if anyone else have seen similar behavior. I have not been able to find any explanation on the internet or from customer service.

Bi-amping rti A5's?

I have Denon AVR-X2300W that has discrete amps per channel and bi-amp capability with crossover setting ability. I also have a Polk Audio PSW350 subwoofer. I want to bi-amp a set of rti a5's. What should I set the crossovers to? 120hz for midrange speakers and 250hz (highest crossover value allowed) for the tweeters?

My 2.3 TL rebuild (and so the journey begins)

I finally got my set of dream speakers about 2 years ago, the 2.3 TL's for $700. The speakers were in great shape both cosmetically and mechanically , about an 8 or 9 out of 10. About 30 years ago I remember looking at the larger Polks (1.2 and 2.3's), I was dreaming and drooling, but they were well out of my price range. So I settled for a set of 2A's for $855, which was still a lot of money, and they served me well till I replaced them with the 2.3 TL's Anyway I started the upgrades to the 2.3 TL's this week, which will include Larry's rings, Black Hole 5, Dynamat Extreme, Armacel, and Loctite Powergrab.

First was to Powergrab the speaker magnets and caulk any seams inside the speaker cabinet. I found the 6 oz tube at Home Depot was better than the cartridge and caulk gun for fitting inside the speaker cabinets

Mounting amp to sub ok??

I helping my son add a 10 inch sub to his system. Can the sub amp be mounted to the sub box? It would be helpful for when he needs the truck space and the sub needs to come out for short time periods.

Worthy of a garage system. I am using my dumpster (bose 141s and a cheap Pioneer AVR) system for music and movies but I need a center because it is driving me nuts. Anyway it will be a 3.1 system one day with Polk monitor IIs. Long ang short of it, does any have an ol polk center to sell me cheap give me find me etc?

So my Uncle gave me two big plastic tubs of his and my aunt's old vinyl. In that was this Physical Graffiti album. It's the first release and its in good condition, I've ultrasonically cleaned it as well. I checked the issue serial number and this thing is only worth a bundle if it's still sealed.
Since it's roughly worth the same amount as a new pressing (which I own), I'm going to give it away. It's totally free (if you live in the continental US) for the person who can guess the right number that's between 1 and 20.

I currently am running a cs250-s and it's doing ok..... I have a couple options in front of me reasonably. A cs10 or a cs400..... any thoughts would be appreciated.

Rta11tl crossover rebuild

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since I posted on here. I just recently purchased a pair of rta11tl and had a question on a capacitor value. I am hoping on ordering everything from Madisound to keep shipping costs down.

I am planning the following

For high pass
2 x 8.2mf 250v clarity caps PX to make the 16.4 value
2 x 12mf 250v clarity caps PX

For the low pass the original is a 34mf. Now everyone seems to substitute a 33mf for this. Could I go up to a 35mf since it's within the 10% range? I can get a Solen 35mf from
Madisound in that value.

For resistors I am planning on Mundrof MR10 1.5 MOX.

Other plans are to add dampening to the speaker and pr baskets. For now I am keeping the original tweeters. They sound real good to my ears as is.

2.1 or 3.1

I have a 2.1 setup currently for my main living room tv.

Polk T15 bookshelf
Polk PSW108 sub
Pioneer VSX524K receiver

I know setting up rear speakers is going to be a challenge with what I call "wife acceptance factor" so I have ruled those out.

My question is will adding a center channel be worth it?

Right now my receiver is downmixing to stereo and I'm not sure if downmixing to 3.1 will be an option or if I will be missing sounds. Just looking for advice.

If I did get a center channel I will probably stick with the T series center.

Tis Friday night, I've gotten into the beer, system cranked up around 75ish, sounds mighty fine, this could be a weekly thing if it sounds and feels this darn great!

Anyone else partaking in the soothing sounds of their systems and chosen libation?
